SPINACH PRODUCTS OFF SHELVES
Grocer Calls The Move “A Voluntary Precaution”
JACKSONVILLE, FL (September 15, 2006) —Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. is voluntarily recalling fresh bulk and bagged spinach products from store shelves in all 520 stores as a precaution as federal health officials seek for the source of E. coli contamination. The grocer, with stores throughout Florida and parts of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, is advising customers who have purchased either bagged or bulk spinach in the past two weeks to not consume the product.

Winn-Dixie store Associates are removing these items from store shelves. All bulk spinach and bags of these products will be destroyed.
