Holiday Household Hints
- For a Christmassy look throughout the
house, spread boughs of evergreen and red bows on the mantel,
tables and around mirrors.
- Here's an idea for a centerpiece: Fit a
florist's foam into a tube pan (a good excuse to buy a shiny new
bundt pan), fill with greenery or holly, and add tall, thin
candles.
- In Winn-Dixie's floral department,
you'll find beautiful poinsettias - the perfect accent for your
holiday table. Group several for a dramatic display near an
entry. And remember, they make wonderful gifts for friends and
relatives. Look for other holiday arrangements to use as
centerpieces.
- For beautiful candle holders, insert
red, white or green tapered candles into shiny, red, cored
apples; tie with a pretty ribbon and group on a sideboard or
beside each plate.
- For a buffet table: Buy a very small
evergreen in a pretty pot and decorate it with tiny ornaments or
candies. Place small wooden blocks, dolls and toy cars around
it.
- For the children's table, set up a
wooden train and load the boxcars with cookies, Christmas
candies and small gifts.
- Don't forget, Winn-Dixie has great gift
ideas and great selections on greeting cards and gift
wrap.
- Take lots of photos to remember the holiday.
