Appetizers - The Party Starters

Most appetizers with bread and meat freeze well.  Don't freeze any appetizer that contains fresh vegetables, hard-cooked eggs or mayonnaise.  Use airtight freezer wrapping to avoid freezer burn.  And remember that the microwave comes in handy to heat made-ahead appetizers.  Just be sure to space them evenly in a ring on a microwave tray for even heat distribution. Why not try one of our favorite appetizers in our recipe library or one of these appetizer quickies:

• Cream cheese with chopped pickle and pimiento on cracker.
• Cheddar cheese cubes with olive attached by toothpick.
• Pimiento cheese mixed with dash of horseradish on cracker.
• Deviled ham with chopped onion and Spanish olives on thin, toasted bread.
• Pizza sauce spread on party breads, topped with grated mozzarella cheese and baked until melted.
• Hollowed-out cherry tomatoes stuffed with guacamole or soft cream cheese.
