A baby shower can be given before or after the birth of a baby.  Pastel pinks and blues are the traditional baby colors.  You may want to coordinate your party theme with the mother-to-be's theme if she wants one: teddy bears, alphabet, ducks or popular characters.  Decorate with stuffed animals, wooden alphabet blocks or rubber duckies.  Fold napkins like diapers and fasten them with diaper pins.  And for a take-home centerpiece, fill a diaper pail with baby essentials like training cups, bibs, bottles and teething rings-all from Winn-Dixie.  Add another festive touch with colorful balloons and seasonal flowers.

Here's a simple idea for a fun game at a baby shower.  As guests arrive, pin a clothespin onto their sleeve, cuff, pocket or collar. When one guest hears another guest say the word "baby" in any conversation, the person who said "baby" must give his/her clothespin to the person who heard it.  The winner is the person who collects the most clothespins.  Have a small novelty gift for the winner.

For another game, remove the labels from eight different jars of baby food.  With a permanent marker, number the lids of the jars 1 through 8. Have players number their paper from 1 through 8.  Pass the jars around, in order, and let the players identify each jar of baby food.  They should write answers on their paper.  When everyone is finished looking at all the jars, call out the answers.  The winner is the person with the most correct answers.  Have a small gift for the winner.
