Winn-Dixie Signature Recipe

Fruit Patisserie

Cooking Time: 10 min.
Serves: 8

Ingredients:

1 crust Pie crust, frozen, ready-to-bake -- (pastry crust), baked, 9-inch
2 medium Peaches, fresh -- peeled & sliced
2 medium Plums -- red or purple, sliced
2 medium Kiwi fruit, raw -- peeled & sliced
1/3 cup Blueberries, raw
1/2 cup Sugar, granulated
4 tablespoon Arrowroot flour
1 1/2 lb Milk, canned, evaporated -- 2 cans
2 large Egg, whole, raw -- slightly beaten
2 tablespoon Honey
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 tablespoon Orange juice

Preparation:

1. In heavy saucepan, mix sugar and arrowroot, add milk and beaten egg. Stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly.

2. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

3. Chill thoroughly, covering surface with plastic wrap or waxed paper.

4. Spread cooled filling in baked pastry crust. Top with fruit slices and berries.

5. Lightly brush fruit with a mixture of honey and orange juice.

6. Cover and chill up to 1 hour.
