Winn-Dixie Signature Recipe
Hearts of Beef Salad
Preparation Time: 1 hour, 15 min.
Cooking Time: 12 min.
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
1 1/4 lb Beef, tenderloin, steaks, raw -- (5 oz each), cut 1-inch thick
1 tablespoon Seasoning, lemon herb
2 teaspoon Oil, olive
14 oz Hearts of palm, canned -- drained
6 cup Salad greens, mixed -- cut into bite-size pieces
1 large Tomatoes, red, raw -- chopped
1 small Onions, red/purple, raw -- cut into thin circles
DRESSING:
1 teaspoon Seasoning, lemon herb
1/4 cup Vinegar, Balsamic
1/3 cup Oil, olive
2 tablespoon Mustard, dijon
2 clove Garlic, raw -- roasted
1/2 teaspoon Pepper, red, flakes/crushed
Preparation:
1. Rub steaks with 1 tablespoon lemon-herb seasoning.
2. Pan grill in 2 teaspoons olive oil for 6 minutes each side.
3. Cool, slice into strips.
4. In a large screw top jar, combine vinegar and 1 teaspoon lemon-herb seasoning, shake.
5. Add 1/3 cup olive oil, mustard, garlic, pepper and shake well again.
6. Chill for at least an hour.
7. In a large bowl, combine salad greens, hearts of palm, tomatoes, onion and dressing. Toss well.
8. Serve sliced beef on top of the salad mixture.
